The Life Vitality Digest Team
We translate the numbers and guidelines behind everyday health into plain language, so you can walk into your next appointment with better questions.
Life Vitality Digest began when one of our editors got a routine blood panel back and spent an evening trying to work out what "MCV slightly low" meant. The lab report had numbers and reference ranges, but no explanation. The internet had plenty of explanations, most of them alarming.
We write about the parts of health that come with numbers attached: lab results, blood pressure readings, nutrition labels, screening schedules, sleep and energy. We base our articles on published clinical guidelines and public-health recommendations, explain what the numbers measure and what they don't, and are clear about where the evidence is thin.
Nothing on this site is a substitute for advice from your own clinician. Our goal is narrower: to help you understand what you are looking at, and to know which questions to ask.
